Braham who produced a number of books for the same publisher in a similar format around this date.The story (in rhyme) seems to be based on the original Peter Rabbit with some elements of Jemima Puddleduck thrown in. Very small book (3"x4"),46pp, decorated endpapers, colour frontis and one other colour plate. Front hinge cracked at first page of text and binding shaky. One page of text missing (15/16). Bound in original publisher's greyish blue boards, large mounted colour plate with title, mauve and green floral endpapers. 25 mm (1") crack at foot of upper hinge neatly stuck, tiny crack across spine, free endpapers lightly browned, a couple of tiny pale marks to margins, no inscriptions, binding tight firm. Lower cover marked and lacking a piece of surface paper 65 x 10 mm (2½" x ½" - see image), tiny slight stain to upper corner of upper cover, light vertical crease at fore-edge margin to a couple of pages, contents clean. Attractive coloured frontispiece: a fairy addresses 3 small children, line vignette on title. Lower cover and spine very slightly discoloured, untidy inscription on reverse of front endpaper and reverse of frontispiece (no show through, see image), contents clean and bright, one inner joint cracked, binding tight and firm.
