Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP, 1929 on the title page; B. T. Batsford first editions identified by--'to 1959 no later printings mentioned'). 68 pages of text, 4 page unnumbered Index, Color frontispiece, 5 additional color plates, 66 black and white plates on full-page semi-glossy paper, and 66 pages (also on semi-glossy paper) 'devoted to announcements by art dealers, most of whom are owners of Georgian works of art.' These pages bring the book to a close. Once listed, I believe this will be the Only copy for sale with an intact dust jacket (see first three photos). The covers of the book itself are in very nice condition. They are exceptionally clean. I don't see any conspicuous soiling. The gilt design on the front is nicely bright, the gilt lettering on the spine is also nicely bright. There's a little crinkling at the spine ends, the bottom one also has a spot of rubbing. The cover edges look very good. The top corners have only speck-sized spots of superficial rubbing. The front bottom corner has a fairly small spot of rub-through. The page edges look perfectly clean. There is a bump/crease just below the front top corner and another just above the rear bottom corner. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The inside covers and end papers form a green and white floral decoration. They look very good, though there are a few areas with mild toning. The interior of the book is in excellent condition. I have turned over pretty much all of the pages. They are exceptionally clean. I don't think I saw any soiling at all, certainly nothing conspicuous. That includes all of the illustrations/ plates. There are two pages with a small rectangular shadow just off their top edge, no doubt created by a piece of paper taking up residence there. The only imperfection I'm seeing is a tiny crease just below the tips of the top corners of a large number of consecutive pages. There are no placeholder creases. No markings of any kind. No attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. I have always had the jacket in a fitted protective cover. In fact it had one when I first purchased the book many years ago. I've just now removed it in order to avoid the glare it will create in the photographs. I will replace it with a new protective cover afterward. I can now tell you that the previous owner placed four small pieces of tape on the inside (hidden) of the jacket. One you can make out at the front bottom corner, the second one is behind the thin tear off the front bottom edge. One is behind the top edge of the spine and the other behind the bottom edge of the spine, neither of those seemed necessary. You can of course see the soiling over parts of the front cover. There is also light wear off the jacket's top edges-- crinkling off the front one and nicks off the rear one. There is a large, neat, clip off the top edge of the front flap. I'm not sure why since the price is off the bottom edge of the front flap. It is intact. There is no other print on either flap. Here are the Contents: Preface by the Editor R. R. Tatlock. The third in the series of Burlington monographs, following Chinese and Spanish art publications. A good black cloth hardback with gilt motif to front and gilt title to spine. Some rubbing and bumping and sun fading to areas of the cover. 3.5cm tear to cloth at tail of spine. Pictorial endpapers - cracked at front joint. Text is bright and clean throughout, and soundly bound. Text in English. Colour Frontispiece + 68pp text + numerous plates + 4pp Index + an extensive section of art dealer advertisements. Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, red cloth boards three-quarter bound in red leather, gilt text on spine. Interior shows some spotting as well as edge and corner bumps/wear. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight, marbled end pages and pastedown and front and rear as well as all three exterior page edges. Signatures or bookplates present no library markings, no handwriting. The rear end page and pastedown has some very minor damage near the lower outside corner where the two pages were stuck together. The very first bulletin (number 30) has a tear near the upper outside corner which is also present on the second page in. Special bound edition for a gentleman farmer, many the publications are original though some are reprints which are stated on the title pages. None of the bulletins are newer than 1909.
