Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fair. 1st Edition. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1923. First Edition thus. No additional printings mentioned on the copyright page. Hardcover in dust jacket. Black cloth stamped in gilt on front side and spine. vi, 262 pages. This volume contains thirty-one stories, translated from the French by Ernest Boyd. With some stories as brief as three or four pages, this book is a classic night-stand / bedside reader. Condition: Very Good with no marks or writing to the book. Top edge is a bit dusty. Text block is age-toned as one may expect. The dust jacket has age and signs of wear; soil and darkening to the kraft paper used. There are some tears and chips. The tears we have we repaired from the reverse using archival mending tissue. There are some tidemarks present on the spine panel, which over the years must have been exposed to elements and moisture. Nevertheless, any of the volumes in this Knopf series still in their original jackets are fairly hard to find. It is safe to say that regardless of the jacket conditions, the book survived fairly unscathed. Thus, the jacket did its job admirably.…

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. A VERY RARE 1925 MODERN LIBRARY EDITION WITH DUST JACKET! The Child of Pleasure by Gabriele D'Annunzio. 1925 MODERN LIBRARY / BONI & LIVERIGHT EDITION. Per Toledano the first printing was not identified on the copyright in this edition but book and dust jacket match a first printing except for the fact that this is a blue leatherette in spine #4 instead of spine #3. Likely printed at same time as the first but during the transition to the #4 spine. The dust jacket has only titles from 1925 and before so this matches a First edition. The book is in VERY GOOD condition with bright gilt on cover and spine. Leatherette binding is tight and solid with only slight wear. Contents clean and bright with previous owners names. GORGEOUS! The dust jacket is GOOD+ with chipping as seen in photos and a old tape repairs but overall in decent condition and very rare for this title. The list of titles on the flaps and rear panel include titles from 1925 but not 1926 indicating a 1925 printing. Now protected in an archival-quality dust jacket protector. EXTREMELY RARE AND HARD TO FIND IN DUST JACKET! **I WILL BE LISTIING OVER 400 COLLECTIBLE, RARE, OR SIGNED MODERN LIBRARY EDITIONS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS FROM 30 YEARS OF ACTIVE COLLECTING AROUND THE WORLD - PLEASE VISIT MY SELLERS PAGE TO VIEW THEM ALL**.…
