Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition ( 'First Published March, 1933' ). Part of 'The Fen Series No. 1.' From the front flap (the covers have French Flaps) 'This is the first Appreciation of the great "Artist in Biography" that has appeared since his death in January 1932. Written critically and authoritat…ively, and illustrated by extracts from his finest pros, the Essay will appeal equally to those who seek an Introduction to Lytton Strachey, and those to whom his works are already well known.' The book runs 106 pages. The book is quite rare. In fact, once listed, this will be the Only Non-Library copy for sale anywhere on the Internet. You can see the covers in the photos. They are very clean there is a 3/4" tear off the bottom edge of the front cover just adjacent to the spine and there is tiny loss at both the top and bottom edge of the spine. The one at the top edge does not reach the lettering. There are also a few little nicks or scratches on the rear cover. The edges and corners look very good. The book is pretty decently bound. I'm not finding any cracks or spaces between any of the facing pages. The covers are solidly bound. As a reference the covers have French flaps. There fairly wide. The rear one is in excellent shape. It advertises the 'First Titles' of the Fen Series: Lytton Strachey: an Essay, Conquest Of Nerves, and Hypnotism Explained. It states that there are ; Other Titles In Preparation.' The front flap is clipped at the bottom corner and if there was a price there it is gone. The interior the book is in very good condition. The pages are very clean. Scrolling through, I didn't see any soiling. There aren't any conspicuous creases. There are no markings. There are no attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. 'Giles Lytton Strachey was an English writer and critic. A founding member of the Bloomsbury Group and author of Eminent Victorians, he is best known for establishing a new form of biography in which psychological insight and sympathy are combined with irreverence and wit. His biography Queen Victoria was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.'.
