It follows the career of Richard Boult from his initial officer and…flying training at RAFC Cranwell and describes service life in the air and on the ground, tracing the course of trans-sonic and super-sonic jet training. It then provides a vivid picture of the experiences of a typical GD officer serving at Gan in the Indian Ocean and Singapore. Containing constructive criticism of leadership training in the RAF, this is one man's view of life and learning in the RAF during challenging and changing times. In addition, it includes a `tyro's guide' to the basic techniques of flight and flying. From a successful secondary career with the Industrial Society, Richard Boult goes on to draw parallels between military management practices and leadership training in the business sector. It is a book with a tale to tell and is a source of sound opinions and shared memories.
