Soft cover. Condición: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. First Edition, as stated on the copyright page. Illustrated softcover with striking black-and-white woodland imagery accented in pink and pale blue, complementary pink endpapers. Illustrations by Corin See; book design by Beth C. Ford of Glib Communications & Design. Titles and text set in Stickley, a humanist old-style typeface designed by Michael Stickley. Printed in the United States. The author's first book, BORN is a tightly interconnected collection of short, surreal poems exploring childhood, parenthood, grief, mortality, and the transformation of personal loss. Moving between memories of a father and the loss of a newborn son, Boisvert constructs an emotionally resonant sequence populated by fawns, forests, animals, dreams, and startling visual imagery. The collection received endorsements from poets Karen Holmberg, Raoul Fernandes, and Emily Kendal Frey. Published by Airlie Press, a nonprofit, writer-run poetry collective serving the Pacific Northwest, this is a particularly appealing example of contemporary independent poetry publishing. Condition: Near Fine. A clean, well-preserved copy with firm binding, attractive illustrated wrappers, and bright, unmarked pages. No writing, highlighting, or other markings. An especially pleasing copy of a carefully designed small-press publication. Jon Boisvert is an American poet born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, who later settled in Oregon. He studied poetry at Oregon State University and the Independent Publishing Resource Center in Portland. His debut collection, BORN, explores childhood, parenthood, grief, and mortality through surreal imagery and tightly constructed prose poems. His subsequent chapbook, EGOCIDES (above/ground press, 2018), further developed his interest in transformation, identity, and the emotional complexities of human relationships. In interviews, Boisvert has cited poets Marosa di Giorgio and Russell Edson as important influences, particularly their ability to combine seemingly straightforward narratives with fantastical and unsettling imagery. He has also explained that BORN emerged from deeply personal experiences of family loss, with its poems ultimately arranged around the life events that inspired them. Corin See (ilustrador).…
