Originally published in Germany, 1850, then (English translation) in Edinburgh by Edmonston & Douglas, 1858. By German educator, who believed that children initially learn by doing and visualising pictures. Inspired by Froebel's Kindergarten movement, involving creative play. (One of a set of 35 handsome facsimiles in 28 slipcases.).
