A slip laid into this book from a previous owner indicates this volume came from Maggs Brothers, London and this is a "First edition, original parchment covers, 8vo., [xii], 146 pages, top edge gilt, others uncut, portrait frontispiece." The gutters remain intact, and a previous owner has added a small ownership tag-similar to old book stores-to the back paste down, in addition to his initials and date of receiving this book on the front pastedown in pencil. There are gilt lettering and decorations on the front cover and gilt lettering on the spine. The boards are lightly soiled. The paper used for this publication is watermarked, and the book is currently housed in a blue paper covered slip case. The end papers are toned, and a few pages have some light spotting.
