Full-Leather. Condición: Very Good. A near miniature Book of Common Prayer, printed at the Oxford University Press. Undated but circa 1835-1850?? Original black calf binding with yapp edges, with a working brass clasp. Gilt title to spine. Page sizes 93mm x 54mm. All edges gilt. Slight cracking to front inner hinges but binding is firm. VG copy. Bondy's limit for genuine miniature books is 3 inches, this just strays outside by 5/8 of an inch. A nice little thing produced for the pocket or lady's handbag.…

Condición: very good. These hollow book boxes were common before after the second war, in the book stals on the banks of the Siene. They were made from broken sets which were common in that era and were considered a great keepsake in the growing tourist trade. As a bookseller you never had any money to hide away however, we did keep the cash register float in a book box made from a small folio "Boy's Own Annual, 1912" for about forty years shelved with the reference and bibliography section behind the counter until it fell apart in complete exhaustion. 12mo., 17x 9.5cm, Volume 5. In original full mottled calf, real raised bands, panels ornated full gilt decorated, marbled endpapers, edges stained red in contemporary binding style, some wear on the edges, hollow binding with the rear marbled endpaper re-used to line the hollow out recess which continue from page 30 the back, interior box glued. When opened the interior hollowed recess is not noticeable, however the book is uncommonly light, in very good sound condition.…

32mo (9 x 5.5cm). Contemporary 'cathedral binding' of full red morocco with embossed gothic architectural decoration to the boards and spine. Owner's name "A. Berriman" in gilt to the upper board and the date "Jan. 1. 1834" to the lower board. A very good copy, the binding firm with a little rubbing to the extremities and a small worm hole to foot of the lower joint. The contents with a some cracking to the rear hinge, a little scattered foxing and some minor creasing to a few page corners are otherwise in very good order. A charming miniature prayer book in an attractive gothic 'cathedral binding'.…

This fine copy is the first volume of this celebrated almanach, published until 1815 and republished several times afterwards. It contains a precise list of, for the past year, all the theatre pieces that were played in the most renowned Parisian theatres, such as the Comà die Française, the Comà die Italienne and the Opà ra. The Almanach also contains notes on the works and on theatre in general, a list of the comedians and musicians currently working at the Comà die, and excerpts taken from several dramas. Bound in an attractive contemporary red morocco, with gilt ornaments to covers and spine, endpapers with a gilt geometrical pattern.…

Rare and early miniature binding, H. 8 x W. 5.5 x D. 2.5 cm. / 3.15 x 2 x 1 inch. Bound with silver fine wire and with brass sequins. Gold edges. The covers are surrounded by a two-part multi-coloured border, partly interwoven with silver wire, in the corners stylised branches of golden wire and sequins, in the centre a two-coloured embroidered bouquet with flowers of silver wire and coloured metal foils. Back with a double curved two-tone border, partly covered with gold wire. Edges scuffed, binding restored. The last two pages of the Table are damaged.…
