Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: Fine. 1st Edition. 1st printings of the paperback original editions of The Avengers Battle the Earth-Wrecker (1967) and Captain America: The Great Gold Steal (1968). Introductions by Stan Lee. The Canadian and American editions were published simultaneously. Presumed original cover art; the artist is unidentified. Surprisingly well-preserved examples with no markings by a previous owner or retailer. Exposed page edges stained yellow. The books are tight, the bindings remain supple, and there is tanning to the page edges. This copy of The Avengers has a faint spine roll, and the front and back covers are rippled along the binding. Minor wear to the surface of the front edge of the spine, along the top edge of the front cover and the crown of the spine. This copy of The Great Gold Steal has a soft reading crease along the spine and the spine edge of the front cover. The corners of the covers have softened. A very desirable pair of novels set in the Marvel universe supplied in fitted polypropylene bags. The mass market paperback was created in 1939 by Pocket Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, and in less than 100 years the format is being discontinued by distributors and publishers. This has generated renewed interest in paperback originals with original cover art.
