Añadir al carritoOctavo. Engraved frontispice of The princess of Wales, Alexnadra. xx, 330 pages, bibliograpgy, index. The Colonel was a British soldier, author and naturalist who served in the government of British India. The voyage on the Ceres and Royal Henry is among the best (see pages 29-30). His careful observations appear in many issues…of the Journal for the Society of Historical Research, especially, on military uniforms (see the helmet of the 'Hot climate" type, color image (facing page 99) which shows the red horsehair plume on the element (presumably of Colonel John Floyd by A.W. Davis. The top part of the page not extent to the text at p. 329-330 has been clipped. Laid in is a bookplate from the United Service Club noting presented by The Author, January 1905. The previous owner specialized in British military uniforms and has blue tabs pointing to the plates of signficance. Bound in a newer 3/4 blue morocco over blue cloth, rasied bands with compartments lettered and decorated in gitl, hosued within a blue cloth overed slipcase with the original front cover used as a pastedown. Very nice.
