After completing an internship at the VA Medical Center in New Orleans and receiving her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Stubblefield entered private practice in Slidell, Louisiana, where she combined her two loves-horses and psychotherapy by establishing The Equestrian Therapy Center of Slidell. Inspiration for this book came from experiences while incarcerated at a Federal Prison Camp for two years. Now retired after 30 years of clinical practice, Dr. Stubblefield and her husband enjoy living in her family home, which houses her father's extensive library that provides resources for writing. In retirement, Dr. Stubblefield received a Diploma in Biblical Studies from Samford University. Hobbies include playing the organ for church, riding horses, and AAUW meetings.
