An interesting and very scarce work from Bevan, who was the inventor of the "Oesophagoscope," an optical instrument for examining the inside of the (o)esophagus. The book is the "result of clinical & pathological researches at Guy's Hospital, London, and at the Bellevue Hospital, New York"--title page. Beveled and scored red leather with blind stamped gilt titling on front and spine. Covers show very mild general wear, with light wear at top & tail of spine and very modest bumps to corners. Darkening/mild foxing at ends; mild damp staining to outside corners of free endpapers; otherwise interior is clean, crisp, & bright, unmarked. Binding is tight & strong. 68 pp. Approx. 5" x 7.5".
