Images depict street scenes, destroyed storefronts, radio and telephone operations, military and civic relief work, and major damaged structures throughout Long Beach. Issued by the Historical Society of Long Beach using photographs from institutional holdings, newspaper archives, and private collections to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the earthquake and preserve visual documentation of the event.
