Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book investigates the multifaceted nature of the life of a woman in the 16th century. It provides a comparative analysis of English, Italian, and Spanish sources to achieve this. The book is framed by the lives of two well-known women of the era. Jane Dudley, the wife of John Dudley, is used to represent the status quo of the middle and upper classes of the time, and Argula von Grumbach, the wife of the Imperial advisor, represents the challenges women of this period faced. The author uses these two women to explore the way the religious and political changes of the period impacted the lives of women. This book will be of interest to anybody with an interest in gender history and Early Modern European history more generally. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
