Remise en vente de l'édition originale de 1753, illustrée d'un frontispice allégorique gravé par Ertinger représentant la Justice triomphante sur une hydre. Cette traduction française par Jean-François Dreux du Radier (Châteauneuf-en-Thymerais, 1714-Saint-Éliph, 1780) avait paru en 1753, alors que le Parlement de Paris protestait contre Louis XV, ce dernier n'ayant pas donné suite aux remontrances des magistrats hostiles au refus des sacrements. Les exemplaires à la date de 1768 comme ici semblent très rares : un seul est répertorié au CCfr, celui de la Bibliothèque nationale. Seule la page de titre a été renouvelée. Orateur, poète et dramaturge néo-latin, le père jésuite Jacques de La Baune (Paris, 1649-1726) enseigna les humanités au collège Louis le Grand. Son panégyrique, suivi d'une chronologie des présidents à pagination séparée, se proposait de montrer tout ce que le Parlement avait fait pour le bien de la religion, pour le service du roi, pour l'intérêt des particuliers et pour la paix des familles. Exemplaire aux armes de la famille Le Jay. Les armoiries dorées aux petits fers sont certainement celles d'un membre de la famille Le Jay. Elles diffèrent légèrement de celles du XVIIe siècle décrites par Olivier, Hermal et de Roton (pl. 1016-1018), avec quatre aiglons au lieu d'une aigle et trois aiglons. Leur ancêtre Nicolas Le Jay (1573-1640), premier président au Parlement (1630-1636) puis garde des Sceaux (1636-1640), est cité à plusieurs reprises dans l'ouvrage.
