Sie bildet die Grundlage des vorliegenden Faksimiles. In seinen faszinierenden Studien hielt Van Heemskerck antike Skulpturen und Ruinen, die bewunderte Kunst von Michelangelo und Raffael, und römische Stadtlandschaften fest.
