Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book, written by a prominent 14th-century Italian jurist, presents a comprehensive treatise on heraldry and medieval emblems. This topic, though unfamiliar to modern readers, was incredibly important during the time period that the author was writing. The book is broken into multi…ple chapters, and includes over thirty detailed illustrations, which include examples of coats of arms, seals, and other heraldic imagery. The author uses these examples, as well as many others, to analyze the history and symbolism of heraldry, as well as the rules and regulations governing its use. As such, the book serves as an essential tool for understanding not just the methods and meanings of medieval heraldry, but also the history of medieval European society. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Very famous Edition in Basle of the opera omnia of the most important Commentator! Bartolus de Saxoferrato, one of the most famous European jurists of all times, was the foremost among commentators. Bartolus studied at the early age of 14 at the University of Perugia, where in particular Cinus de Pistoia was his most well-known teacher. In the autumn of 1333 he moved to the University of Bologna, where he graduated as Doctor iuris civilis on 10 November 1334. From the winter semester of 1338-39 he taught at the University of Pisa and from 1343 in Perugia.Bartolus gained tremendous fame even during his lifetime: summus iuris commentator. The authority of Bartolus long ranked almost equal to the glosses: nemo bona iurista nisi bartolista. His opera omnia was repeatedly reprinted, almost solely in Italy apart from the famous Basel collected edition, which was revised and edited by the humanist jurist Jacobus Concennatius during his many years in Basel. A very thoroughly revised and very readable Bartolus edition. Coing, Handbuch, I,274 (Horn) mit weiteren Angaben zu Person und Werk.

Añadir al carritoSexta Editio Iuntarum. 11 Bde. (Bd. 11 = Registerband). Gr.-Fol. (42 x 27,5 cm).
