These are ten individual booklets loosely bound into a hardcover binding with string, measuring 13" x 9.75", respectively. Hardcover is a textured, powder blue cloth. A typed paper label bears the title on the spine. Frontispiece is a majestic, full color portrait of "'Her Majesty The Queen in Her Robes of State' from the painting by F. Winterhalter, graciously lent by Her Majesty specially for 'Sixty Years a Queen'", laid in, with another tissue leaf protectant. Each issue is illustrated in a single color, which varies across booklets. Heavily illustrated throughout with photographs in black and white. It is resolute, stout, aged (a bit like the Queen was in 1897). The imperial red boards are much worn, scuffed, marked all about. They are steady. The leather spine has clubbable wear. The contents are aged, worn. The title page - despite marks, wear - are bright and regal. Hand coloured gilt to the titling (fresh and luxe). The contents are placid even passive. Hardcover in cream and blue cloth over bevel edged boards with decoration to the front and all edges gilt, the rear hinge is cracking with the super exposed at head, and the cloth over the spine has a 2.5" split starting from the tail of the rear hinge that is starting to lift. The book has a strong skew to the binding, which is a little loose but solid throughout the text block, heavy bumps with fraying and chipping to the cloth at the spine ends and cover corners, rubbing with thin scrapes and areas of smudging and soiling to the covers, and a couple small stamps from a previous owner (University Hills Christian Living Center Library) to the upper corner of the first two end pages. Otherwise, this is a solid, Fair only copy.
