"Chaotic, sexy, and binge-worthy as hell, Be Gay, Do Crime is an EVENT."-Ruth Madievsky, author of All Night PharmacyA follow-up to their runaway success Peach Pit: Sixteen Stories of Unsavory Women, editors Molly Llewellyn and Kristel Buckley return with Be Gay, Do Crime, a celebration of queer chaos from an all-queer author lineup featuring Myriam Gurba, Emily Austin, Alissa Nutting, and Francesca EkwuyasiA trans woman makes increasingly frequent hoax calls to a business where she's had a negative experience, watching the consequences with perverse joy. A group of aging queers turns to bank robbery to stop the sale of their bungalow complex to a development company. As the president prepares to give a speech, two women lurk among the journalists, ready to shoot him. And an aspiring author takes to stealing items from strangers' homes in a kind of cosmic redistribution each time one of her relationships fail.In sixteen brilliant, wild-eyed stories, Be Gay, Do Crime delivers a celebration and reckoning of why queer people turn to crime-unintentionally, as a means of survival, as protest, as rescue, or to right injustices big and small.

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. Hardcover 1st Edition (1972) published by Plenum in green boards with silver spine lettering. Former library book; otherwise, in Very Good condition without a dust jacket. The covers are in great shape. The binding is square and tight. The interior pages are clean and unmarked. The book will be carefully packaged for shipment for protection from the elements. USPS electronic tracking number issued free of charge. The idea of this symposium grew out of our discussions on the need to review the advances that had been made in the theoretical description of inelastic scattering reactions in the last few years. Since a microscopic description of inelastic scattering uses realistic effective interactions, we felt that it was appropriate to begin such a summary with a discussion of the free two-nucleon force. However as we thought further about this review, it became increasingly apparent that a rather more ambitious program linking the free two-nucleon force and nuclear matter calculations both to shell model calculations and to reaction theory, would be appropriate and perhaps even necessary to do full justice to the subject. We hope that the symposium as it emerged did fulfill these aims, better perhaps than we expected. There are some comments required concerning the presentation of the material. First the papers are grouped by session number for convenient gathering of the same topic in the same place. Secondly, because of the rather tight constraint on pages, it was possible to print only those contributions which were presented orally at the symposium. The remainner are included as abstracts.
