Er diente auch als Organist und Dechant und stand als Verwandter des Salzburger Hofkapellmeisters Johann Ernst Eberlin in Kontakt mit Mozart. Dieser gab 1777 bei ihm ein Privatkonzert und hinterließ dem Kloster Kopien einiger seiner Kirchenmusikwerke.
