Es gehört zur Mehrerauer Kongregation.Neben dem eigentlichen Klosterbereich mit Kirche, Kreuzgang, Kapitelsaal, den klösterlichen Wohnbauten, einem Gästehaus sowie Friedhof und dem mit einer Mauer umgebenen Garten gehören zum Komplex das 2022 geschlossene Mädcheninternat «Impulsschule Wurmsbach» sowie ein grosser Bauernhof und Scheunen. Das Konventsgebäude stammt grösstenteils aus dem 17. Jahrhundert.Das Kloster Mariazell-Wurmsbach ist seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1259 ohne Unterbrechung bewohnt.
