The leather spine has tape on it so would need the spine re-done but book is still tight and comes in a clear plastic protective sleeve. Vol.1 has 364 pages and a map of shetland at the start of the book, Vol.2 has 345 pages. Both volumes has been rebound at some point c1900, with hard board covers and new end papers. The pages have rough edges as it was hand cut pages, some pages are still uncut. The covers have rubbing to the edges and outer spines, and kind of grubby, the name plates on the spines are worn out. The inside has browning to the pages, especially the front and back original pages and rough edge cut pages (as stated above) along with general wear that you would expect. They are still tightly bound and complete and survived without any major faults or damage.…
