Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book focuses on the history of English coinage, monetary conventions, and the processes for updating English money. The author firmly believes that changes can be made that would benefit the realm and the world at large. In 1865, The International Association for Measures, Weights, and Coins sought to address flaws in English coinage. The author examines this and other attempts to solve the problem, including the "Pound and Mil System." However, the author proposes their own solution, involving the adjustment of the value of the penny by 20%, while keeping the sovereign the same. This would allow for the decimalisation of the English system without the need for new coins, and bring England more in line with monetary conventions adopted by other European nations. The book provides a detailed historical and practical analysis, showing that reform is not only possible, but urgently needed. Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This compelling narrative explores how the extravagant lifestyles and assertive behaviors prevalent among women in the mid-19th century were a consequence of the social and economic conditions of the time rather than inherent character flaws. The author skillfully positions the subject within its broader historical context and delves into the complex reasons why women were particularly susceptible to these behaviors. The book adeptly examines the thematic depth of the situation, revealing the interplay between societal pressures, individual choices, and the evolving roles of women in the 19th century. With astute insights and compelling examples, the author concludes that the prevailing judgments against women's conduct were often unfair and failed to recognize the underlying causes of their actions, offering a valuable perspective on the ongoing dialogue surrounding gender roles and societal expectations.
