Work is based on poems by Paul Eluard, Nicolas Guillen, Horace, M. Lukenin, Gabriela Mistral, Vitêzlav Nezval, Tu Fu. Illustrated with 9 original full-page blockprints by Anton Refregier. The blockprints were produced over a period of ten years - 1950 to 1959. They were originally designed for use as New Year's greetings to friends. Staining, scuffing and some age wear on binding. Head and tail of spine slightly chipped. Tight copy with binding in fair, interior in very good condition. Translated, adapted and arranged by Walter Lowenfels. The title "Song of Peace" and the verses which form the refrain of Section 1 are from a poem by Vitêzlav Nezval.
