I am pleased to offer a nice copy of a vintage book offering an in-depth glimpse of one of the historic churches of Rochester, New York. Please find Centennial Annals of St. Luke s Church, Rochester, New York 1817-1917. I was fortunate to find some information online about this church and its history and offered a brief excerpt from what I found, to wit: St. Luke's Church is the oldest public building in Rochester. It was built in 1824-5 and was Col. Nathaniel Rochester s home church for many years. It is located at 17 South Fitzhugh Street, in the middle of downtown Rochester. According to the Landmark Society, it is the oldest surviving public building in the city of Rochester and an unusually early example of 19th-century Gothic Revival style. This small hard cover book (5 ½ x 7 ¾ inches, 146 pages) was written by the and published by Scrantom, Wetmore & Co. of Rochester dated 1917 as a First Edition with the same date on title and copyright pages. The book is bound in gray papered boards with a quarter spine in dark brown cloth and gilt titles on cover and spine. The book is nicely but modestly illustrated with vintage b&w photos of the church and some of the men who served it over the years. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There has been some rubbing to the finish of the hard covers and some bumping to the corners and spine tips. The gilt titles on the cover and spine are a bit tarnished. Inside there is a nice gift inscription note on the front endpaper but that is the only mark I found in the book. The interior pages and plates are remarkably clean and bright and without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
