Trosper, an Academy Award nominated (for "The Pride of St. Louis") American screenwriter, wrote screenplays for many movies including "The Stratton Story", "One-Eyed Jacks", "Birdman of Alcatraz", and "Jailhouse Rock". The inscription reads "To Guy-A fellow warrior during the most hectic of all Ranger Campaigns - the filming of Darby's Rangers. With best wishes and esteem, Jim. (then, additionally, below the signature) If this book - I should say when this book gets sold I hope you will do the screenplay as you really wanted to see it done in DR". Dated by Altieri Jan 3 1960 at top of page. The jacket is worn, several pieces torn, missing from jacket at head and tail of spine and near the fold of the jacket flap to upper back panel.
