All 10 hand-coloured plates are present, one has small edge tear in fore edge margin. Fair, marble boards with 1/4 red leather, leather on vol. 1 is dulled, evidence of dampstain on front cover of vol. 1 and paper is beginning to peel loose from board, paper and leather are rubbed on both volumes, marbled endpapers.

Collated, complete. The French playwright, author and actor Jean-Baptiste Poquelin (1622-1673), commonly known by his stage name Molière, was one of the greatest writers in world literature. This two volume set contains 31 plays and 6 poems written by Molière, including his noteworthy plays Le Tartuffe and Le Misanthrope. Undated, dated through copies held at the British Library. In quarter calf bindings. Externally smart, with shelf wear to the boards and extremities, and rubbing to the head and tail of the spines, resulting in small losses to the head and tail of the spine to Vol I.
