Missing original front and rear wrap covers; original blue spine paper moderately present but with quires exposed. First leaf present (ffep?) chipped with old clear…tape repairs as well as past owner's self-compiled name index notes in antiquarian ink; adjacent font fly also chipped with associated ink bleed-through; text leaves chipped at bottom margins/corners with some small losses to text; illegible antiquarian ink ownership inscription on title page; interior leaves have additional creasing/curling at corners along with stains, soiling, foxing/toning, and some occasional pencil marks. Adding to title page imprint is printer statement at bottom of page 139: "Printed by T.E. Browne & Co., at the office of the 'Daily Gazette and Reporter.' Pearl Street, Louisville, Ky." Double-column text offers transcript and summations of one of the most famous murder trials in the mid-19th century United States.
