Engraving from "A Natural History of Birds: Illustrated with a Hundred and four Copper Plates, Engraven from the Life, Published by the author Eleazer Albin, and carefully colour'd by his Daughter and Himself, from the Originals, drawn from the live Birds." The beautifully hand colored print depicts a species of Toucan believed to be native to Brazil, with a black head and wings, a yellow breast, and red body and tail. American ornithologist James L. Peters writes of the bird and Albin's engraving in "The Toucans of Linnaeus", published in The Auk Journal in 1930 by James L. Peters. "The bird resembles no resemblance to any known species: it was probably an artifact."
