Jesionek machte sich die neuen Erkenntnisse des dänischen Nobelpreisträgers Niels Finsen über die Lichttherapie zunutze: in der Lupus-Heilstätte (der heutigen Klinik Seltersberg) wurde die Hauttuberkulose unter anderem mit "Lichtbädern" behandelt. Jesionek versuchte außerdem, die Abwehrkräfte seiner Patienten durch Luft, Sport und Diät zu stimulieren.
