March, 1956, issue number 14 under the name "Inside and Science Fiction Advertiser" (which is the last name for the famed sci-fi / fantasy fanzine, which was also published under the earlier names "Fantasy Advertiser" and "Science Fiction Advertiser", though the primary focus was always Science Fiction.) Ron Smith became the Editor/Publisher with the November, 1954 issue, which was also the first under this name. Octavo, stapled illustrated wraps, 42 pp. Near Fine. Some toning to cover margins, and one small nick at back cover (see scans); otherwise bright, tight and flawless. This March of 1956 issue is certainly one of the best produced in the entire sequence, and features a rarely-published reprint (with Permission from Arkham House) H.P. Lovecraft's July, 1919 philosophical reflection in The National Amateur, "Idealism and Materialism" (A Reflection), in which he assesses those concepts as opposites as light and dark in the universe, and as creations of mankind which will perish when we humans do. Plenty more inside, however. There is fanzine art of the highest order (ably managed by Art Editor Cindy Smith): Pat Patterson's wrap-around cover alien, and outstanding interior art by Alan Hunter, Lin Carter, Frank Jonbrian, Dan Adkins, Jack Wilson, and Dave Jenrette. Besides Lovecraft's piece, there are articles by John Brunner (Rusty Chains), Robert Bloch (Definitions), Randall Garrett (The Tale of Two Pretties) Lin Carter (H.P.
