The content describes the founding and ideals of a small community based in the centre of Macaroni Wood, Eastleach, Cirencester, Gloucestershire. The building was an old RAF single story emergency hospital. Those involved were Alan and Joan Albon, Derek and Kay Eastmond and Robert Sale, as well as five children. Lewis Mumford, A. S. Neill and William Reich among others were their inspiration. They aimed to be self-sufficient, advocated self-regulation for their children, and decided to pool incomes and eat a vegetarian diet.
