I was not able to find another copy of this book anywhere on the Internet. So this appears to be a singularly rare book. It was originally published in Argentina in 1942. My copy is identified as the 'Primera Edicion, Especial para Uruguay' (First Edition, Special to Uruguay), and was published in June of 1947. Happily, the condition of this book is not what you would expect of a 69-year-old children's book. To begin with it is solidly bound, nothing is loose, no issues in that regard. Take a look at the photographs. The covers have only minimal wear, a little scuffing and wrinkling at the spine ends and a little rub-through at the corners. And remarkably, there is little to no soiling. That is also the case, just as remarkably, with the pages of the book. I didn't see one instance of soiling. And the condition of the pages is excellent. The only imperfection being a narrow crease off the top edge of 5-7 pages and some tiny wrinkles at the top right-hand corner of the last page. There are no dogeared corners. There is a small penned name (S. Kent) on the front inside cover. There's absolutely no other writing of any kind anywhere else in the book. There is a tiny stamped "St. Andrews School, Pocitos" on the first front end paper. There are no other markings anywhere else in the book. The inside rear cover has what appears to be like a postage stamp on it. There's also a little bit of wear at the top edge of the blank white paper there. This is a 118 page book. There are color illustrations on just about every one of them. They are, I think, quite fanciful and charming. They are also all in perfect condition.

In the first three installments, its directors were Roberto Ares Pons, Alberto Methol Ferré and Washington Reyes Abadie. In #4 (which appeared after two years of interruption) the last two retired and in their place were joined by Horacio Asiaín Márquez and Carlos Real de Azúa (who did not write).
