Illustrated endpapers, top-edge green. Lovely black and white illustrations inside. About very good. Spine tips bruised; lettering and vignette clean and unfaded; boards quite clean; some discolouration at the head of the spine matching wear in the dustwrapper; offsetting and foxing to both sets of end-papers and to the fore-edge; clean interior. The pictorial dustwrapper (also about very good) has a slither of loss at the tail of the spine and a larger chip at the head (not affecting any lettering) that extends to the top left-hand corner of the front panel. Unaccountably scarce in wrapper. A fragile production this copy has lasted the test of time reasonably well and is a lor brighter than most of the very few copies that appear on the market .
