Fore edge of one leaf dust spotted with nicks where had become loose- tipped back in by us with p.v.a., dust spotting to top edge. No cracks to end papers, a few signatures strained indicating the glue to back strip failing but sewing and mull holding and binding generally sound. No other notable faults).

Compiled from the correspondence of Colonel Samuel Rice of the 51st Light Infantry, who had served in the regiment since 1793, and was the lieutenant colonel and commanded the 51st at Waterloo. With other sources added. Written by Lieut.-Col. A. F. Mockler-Ferryman, a British soldier. With the publisher's catalogue to the rear. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the extremities with the odd mark to the boards. Hinges starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Age toning to the endpapers with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper and title page. Good. book.
