The work is a sensational expose of historical events from 1919 to 1950, covering the period from the Palmer Raids to the early Cold War. Kahn argues that the "greatest treason" is not against governments, but against human beings through oppression, violence, and terror, a view very much still valid today. The author was known for naming names and pulling no punches in his exposes of secret diplomacy and fifth-column intrigue. Kahn was also a member of the Communist Party USA and ran for Congress as an American Labor Party candidate in 1948. This is copy of the second 1950 pb edition.
