Resistance to change embodies a significant threat to the contemporary organisation’s ability to adapt to its environment. One reason for such resistance lies in the threat that organisational change poses to the meaning employees find at work. Logotherapy – a psychological school of thought that focuses almost exclusively on addressing the individual’s search for meaning – provides the theoretical principles and practical foundation for a novel approach to organisation development. This "Logo-OD" can make a substantial contribution in addressing the individual's experience of meaning amidst organisational change, thereby improving the speed and effectiveness through which change interventions can be implemented.
