Paul Revere (1735-1818) was an American silversmith, craftsman, and patriot born in Boston, Massachusetts. The son of a French Huguenot immigrant, he learned the silversmith trade from his father and became one of colonial America's most skilled artisans. He also worked as an engraver, producing political prints that stirred public sentiment against British rule. A committed member of the Sons of Liberty, Revere participated in the Boston Tea Party in 1773. He is best remembered for his midnight ride on April 18, 1775, warning colonial militias that British troops were advancing on Lexington and Concord.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) was an American poet and educator born in Portland, Maine. A graduate of Bowdoin College, he later taught modern languages at Harvard University while building a celebrated literary career. He became the most popular poet of his era, known for works such as "The Song of Hiawatha," "Evangeline," and "Paul Revere's Ride." His accessible verse and narrative storytelling helped shape American cultural identity and popularized the nation's legends and history. Longfellow was also an accomplished translator, notably of Dante's Divine Comedy, and remains a landmark figure in American literature.
