Hardcover. Condición: Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fair. Later Edition. Originally published in 1943 and expanded through multiple editions, Kill or Get Killed stands as one of the most influential manuals on close‑quarters combat, mob control, and defensive tactics for police and military personnel. Applegate, a U.S. Army officer trained under William E. Fairbairn and Eric A. Sykes, distilled wartime hand‑to‑hand methods into practical instruction for postwar law enforcement. The 1976 Paladin Press edition—your copy—represents the "New Revised and Enlarged Edition", incorporating expanded sections on mob control, armed and unarmed defense, and psychological conditioning for lethal encounters. It includes hundreds of step‑by‑step illustrations, tactical diagrams, and procedural notes drawn from Applegate's wartime experience and later police training programs. This edition is notable for its Pennsylvania State Police endorsement printed on the jacket, positioning it as an official reference text for institutional training. The red cloth binding with gilt titles and the Paladin imprint mark it as a mid‑period edition, bridging the original military manual and the later reprints.
