Reseña del editor:

Slip is simply colored liquid clay that can be used for decoration on its own or covered with glaze at a later firing. Slip is an ancient technique. There are many variations, such as sponging, brushing on, using stencils, trailing, sgraffito, and inlay. This book covers them all, using contemporary potters' work as illustrations. It explains how to make up slips and engobes, as well as ways of using them at higher temperatures and with glazes. The book is illustrated with images of working potters showing their personal styles and how they have adapted traditional methods to suit their work today. As well as examples of techniques in action, there are many images of finished pieces to show what can be achieved.

Biografía del autor:

John Mathieson is a member of the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain and the author of Raku. He works and teaches in Northampton, UK.
