This text aims to help PE and health teachers, as well as administrators, to promote health-related fitness among their students. Based on the research of Dr Bob Pangrazi, a physical-education professor, researcher and author, the book presents information and ready-to-go activities to apply this technology. After outlining the importance and history of pedometer use and physical activity, Dr Pangrazi and his co-authors explain how to use pedometers to assess, teach and promote physical-activity principles and involvement. In addition, the book addresses specific challenges found in the school setting, such as minimizing breakage and loss, recording and storing data, fundraising and involving parents and classroom teachers.
