Sinopsis
This survey analyses the media explosion. It describes the background to the convergence of media which is taking place, and discusses the pioneers of the new media arts and technologies. It examines the main building blocks of hypermedia: words, images, sounds and movement through space and time. With a range of international examples, it examines the many applications of hypermedia, illustrating the kinds of new interactive products that are being developed in the fields of education, training, point information, corporate presentations and entertainment. The book provides an outline of hypermedia production to explain how programmes are planned and produced, and includes a survey of the main hardware available.
