Remaining pages are flawless and the book otherwise is As New. It has been thirty years since the first edition and since then many pedagogical innovations and experiments have been launched. The important changes have been incorporated into this revision. The purpose and treatment, however, except for minor reorganization to make the book more useful and cohesive, remain basically the same. Basic pedagogical principles have not changed despite innovations and experiments. This book was written to help prospective teachers learn how to teach. It is designed as a college textbook for an introductory course in general methods of teaching in middle and secondary schools, although it might serve well as a reference work for student teachers and teachers in service. Each chapter is opened with an outline and closed with a summary. Numerous examples are used to point out important understandings by means of questions at appropriate places within the text itself. In general, there is no discussion of educational theory except when it seemed necessary to explain why certain methods are advocated. The emphasis is on principles rather than recipes. There are no surefire recipes in teaching. Contents are in Five Parts: Diagnosis, Preparing the Setting, Guiding the Learning, Evaluation, and Following Up. Nº de ref. del artículo: 16113
