Paperback. Rylan Bennet is every version of himself that he has ever been, and he hurts for the boy holding the blade. He finds it's easier to have no one in his corner than someone who might one day turn on him and hurt him, or at least that's what he tells himself when the world starts to crush him and he has no one there by his side. When he looks at the night sky, he sees the space between every bright object, the vastness that swallows everything whole. But when he meets Dalton McGuire, it is the beginning of something supermassive. Dalton intimately knows pain, and he's spent years dancing with ambiguous grief. When his best friend flees this world, and his dad practically follows closely after, Dalton should feel lonely. But he throws himself into relationships to drown out the chaos inside his head. Each boy's strategy works until it doesn't, until they collide with each other at great speeds and realize their lives can hold so much more. Will the two boys find something enchanting in the palm of each other's hands as they find their pasts inexplicably tied together or does fate have something a little more sinister in store for them? Two boys with intertwined paths run into each other on the streets, become fast friends, and slowly fall in love. This item is printed on demand. One boy is haunted by a hero. The other is haunted by a monster. They are both running from the same person.
Rylan Bennet is every version of himself that he has ever been. And he hurts for the boy holding the blade. He is an expert at the disappearing act. He spends his days folding himself into small, digestible pieces, trying to survive a house that had always been so far from a home. When he looks at the night sky, he sees the space between every bright object, the vastness that swallows everything whole. But after meeting Dalton McGuire, he notices the stars becoming brighter and the void beginning to shrink.
Dalton intimately knows pain. And he specializes in running away from it. When his best friend overdosed and passed away, his universe shattered. And broken things are hard to look at, so he covers them up with wild laughter, with fleeting relationships, with glass bottles–and they vanish just like that. But how long can you flee before the source catches up?
When two polar worlds collide, it changes each boy’s life completely. It even turns out that their lives have been circling each other–and the same dead boy–without them even noticing. But whether you remember that it’s there or not, gravity has the power to rip apart celestial bodies, let alone teenage boys.
In this raw YA tragedy, Rylan and Dalton must decide whether their love is a lifeline–or the very thing that will end their universe.
