Eps black, the ffep having a bold name and date contemporary with the book, but hard to see now as it is in dark ink : A. J. Lumb, January 30th, 1876. The woodcuts are exquisite, and match the coloured plates in their appeal. Chromolithographs tipped-in, very bright and clean. In certain bright light some transparent marks from the gum can be seen here and there on the surface, although these are not normally apparent. The images also each have a gilt ruled border, which have an offset mark to opposite page. Mercifully free from foxing apart from a few small occasional dots. Overall, a decent copy of this uncommon title. PLEASE SEE FIVE ACCOMPANYING IMAGES. FREE p&p within the U.K. Additional postage may be requested from buyers outside the U.K. where necessary.
