Houghton Mifflin Company, 1965, Boston. Hard Cover. Book condition: Very Good. Dust jacket condition: Good. Assumed first edition, stated "FIRST PRINTING C" with no number line. Hardcover in unclipped dust jacket. 8-5/8" tall, 1087 numbered pages includes "Index". This book is in very presentable condition: the exterior is square, spotlessly clean, free of edge dings with a very lightly bumped upper front corner and with very slight folding of the binding at the head and heel of the spine; hinges are strong. Except for an red 'sharpie' price on the front of the FFEP and an inked name/date/city on the back of the FFEP, the interior is perfectly clean and completely free of writing, stray marks, stains and any sort of paper damage. Not remaindered (there is a small mark--see photo--on the bottom edge which does not at all look like a remainder mark), ex-library or Book Club edition. The dust jacket has issues: there is a 1" tear, with a fold, at the top of the front panel and it is scotch taped on the back side of the jacket; all four corners and head and heel of the spine have bumps and a small amount of color loss. But worse--there is masking tape on the back side--along all edges, along both folds and on the entire width of the spine; that tape has not affected the binding at all but has darkened the jacket on the flaps and on the rear photo (see photo).
