Ex reference library copy. Smart gilt titled red grained cloth 13 x 19cm. 366pp numbered i-xviii, 9-366, + frontispiece engraving. Covers near fine, rubbed to extremities, and lightly worn to spine tail. Interiors very good, tanned with some closed tears and occasional marginal ticks. Library marks include gilt number to spine tail, bookplate and "not for circulation" label to endpapers, and ink stamps to p. iii and 9. A substantial amount of material omitted from Jessup's "The Women of the Arabs" (1873), made its way into this. Rearranged and largely rewritten, it covers a wider range of subjects concerning manners and customs, superstitions, animals, people, the country, civil war, missions etc. N° de ref. del artículo 3788
