Full leather brown boards, gilt edging, 6 raised bands to spine (only small ridges) title on red label to second compartment, decorated compartments, blue marbled epps, 360pp, Proclamation by Lord Chief Joker Momus Broadgrin, followed by ' High Jokes, Sprightly Jests, Smart Puns, Whimsical Anacdotes, & c.'. Corners are bumped, edges slightly worn, name of previous owner in near black ink to front paste-down, spine faded, original title page has been replaced sympathetically, marbling missing to front paste-down, possibly where label or bookplate has been removed, epps are grubby at the edges, light foxing throughout, however, binding is tight and all text is clear and bright.
