Descripción
First edition, first printing, published by George Allen & Unwin in 1977. Among the first printings of this book there are slight variants, this is the "export" variant with the blue and white headband, blue dyed top edge, no price on the slightly darker blue dustjacket, and printed by William Clowes. This variant is generally considered to be the first state, and certainly seems to be the rarest of the three. Unclipped dustjacket with strong colours, some light scratching to the back, a couple of tiny nicks to the edges, there is a stain to the bottom edge to the inside, the front is very slightly wavy, but is generally tidy and is in a neat removable protective wrapper. Blue covers, some faint marks to the back, bright gilt lettering and decoration to spine, square, secure binding, pale blue top edge, blue and white headband, a couple of faint marks to the edge of page block. Very minor mark from a previous price in pencil to the front free endpaper, otherwise pages clean and bright and without inscriptions. Good condition. Complete with fold out map at the back, which has a tear to the edge.
